I've had a menstrual delay of almost two months . I took a pregnancy test and was negative. Could it be a false reading ? I have been experiencing cramps and nausea , and pain in the lower back . But the result was negative .

There is always a possibility of a false negative out , however has lacked menstruation two months and a pregnancy test should be positive by now. Amenorrhea (lack of menstruation) is common when sudden weight fluctuations , hormonal imbalances, stress / anxiety, thyroid problems , etc. are given . If you re not having her period the next month or so , see your doctor to do some tests , or , if you feel more comfortable , see your doctor to do a blood test for possible pregnancy . This analysis is definitive.
