Ovarian cancer is rare in young women . However , ovarian cysts are very common. And there's a big difference between the two. Ovarian cysts are not fatal . Ovarian cysts can cause pain if leak fluid into the pelvis , if twisted or are large enough to push other things. Note that there are other causes for pelvic pain . Also in the area are the ureters (the tubes leading from the kidney to the bladder) , intestine ( most of it) and the pelvis is full of muscles and nerves. Problems in any of these points can cause more pain in the pelvis. The most common problem is muscle spasm of the muscles that line the inside of the pelvis. In general, you should know that most of the time the pain goes away in a few weeks (usually 6-8). Ultrasound should be performed . Good Luck!
