Given their track record , any chest pain that persists longer than a few minutes would justify a medical evaluation. The open heart surgery usually involves removing part of the pericardium ( the sac around your heart ) , plus some of the nerves that supply it. This can change the way we perceive the pain from his heart - and chest pain is very difficult to diagnose even in people with anatomically normal hearts . If you have not yet gone to your doctor encourage you to do so. Good Luck!
